MAGCOR is Seeking a Communications Coordinator

MAGCOR is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Communications Coordinator to develop and implement internal and external communications strategies that highlight the impact of our reentry and operational programs.

This position is split between two primary functions:

Reentry Communications: Telling the stories of transformation, training, and successful reentry for justice-impacted individuals.

Operational Communications: Promoting MAGCOR’s manufacturing capabilities, product offerings, and partnerships with state agencies and customers. The ideal candidate will be a strong storyteller, strategic thinker, and collaborator who is equally comfortable interviewing returning citizens, writing press releases, managing social media, creating marketing materials, and helping coordinate outreach for both programs and products.

Key Responsibilities: Reentry Side (50%)

• Develop materials (flyers, brochures, presentations) that explain MAGCOR’s reentry programs and services to stakeholders, returning citizens, and potential partners.

• Create and manage success stories of formerly incarcerated individuals who have benefited from MAGCOR’s training and support.

• Support outreach campaigns to employers, training institutions, community partners, and the public.

• Collaborate with the Reentry Team to document program milestones, track impact, and share outcomes.

• Manage social media channels and reentry-focused newsletters or email campaigns.

Operational Side (50%)

• Assist in promoting MAGCOR’s product lines and manufacturing capacity through print and digital marketing.

• Develop sales collateral, product catalogs, web content, and customer communications.

• Support internal communications within correctional industries, including signage, training materials, and newsletters.

• Capture and promote behind-the-scenes stories of how MAGCOR products are made and the people making them.

• Coordinate with the Operations team to align messaging with production timelines, customer needs, and procurement opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.

• 2–5 years of experience in a communications, marketing, or storytelling role.

• Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills.

• Experience working with underserved or justice-impacted populations preferred.

• Ability to communicate across diverse audiences, including employers, government officials, incarcerated individuals, and the general public.

• Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools is a plus.

• Comfortable traveling in-state and visiting correctional facilities (with required clearances).
