MAGCOR Receives Donated Range to Strengthen Workforce Training Programs
April 20, 2026
Jackson, Mississippi - MAGCOR Industries has received a donated freestanding range from Viking Range, LLC, helping strengthen workforce training opportunities for incarcerated individuals participating in MAGCOR programming. The donation was made possible through the support of Senator Chassaniol, who recognized the need for updated equipment in MAGCOR’s training facility and connected the organization with Viking Range, LLC of Greenwood, Mississippi.
MAGCOR offers a variety of workforce development programs designed to prepare incarcerated individuals for success after release. Through training opportunities that include industry recognized certifications such as ServSafe, AHLEI Certified Hospitality Manager and the other customer service programs, participants gain practical skills that support employment, stability and long-term growth.
The donated range will help enhance training by giving participants access to updated equipment that reflects real work workplace environments and expectations. This hands-on experience is an important part of helping individuals build confidence, strengthen their skills and prepare for future opportunities in the hospitality and food service industries.
“This donation represents more than equipment. It represents opportunity,” said Garrett McInnis, Chief Executive Officer. “When individuals have access to quality training tools and industry recognized certifications, they are better prepared to build meaningful careers and successful futures. We are grateful to Senator Chassaniol and Viking Range for investing in Mississippians.”
MAGCOR’s mission is to provide rehabilitation work programs and reentry services that equip individuals with real world job skills, foster successful reentry, reduce recidivism and strengthen communities. Donations like this one help make that mission possible by expanding the quality and impact of training opportunities available to participants.
“We want every training opportunity we offer to reflect the kind of standards and equipment participants may encounter in the workforce,” said Martha Claire Bullen, Chief Reentry Officer. “This donation helps us continue providing meaningful, hands-on instruction that builds confidence, strengthens skill sets and supports a smoother path toward employment after release.”
With the support of partners like Senator Chassaniol and Viking Range, MAGCOR can continue expanding the quality of its programming and creating opportunities that lead to real change. By investing in updated training tools and industry recognized instruction, this donation helps ensure more individuals leave with skills, experience and a stronger foundation for the future.
